STARTING DATE: May,1999 DATE OF COMPLETION: June, 2000 PROJECT ABSTRACT: Objectives: The prime objective of the research is to provide life time stand as a working stand for Bamboo artisans while making stick from Bamboo by hands. The subsidiary objective of the research was to save from injury during work. Methodology: RTIG has identified this problem during time motion study of Bamboo working process and RTIG has developed triangular support from iron. Which is ideal for them. Study Area: The bamboo workers were confined to a cluster of 20 to 25 artisans in Narmada District in Gujarat state. Present Status: Bamboo stand is already developed and after taking several trials by the RTIG as well as workers engaged in these field. It has already been distributed to the workers engaged in this activity through RTIG. It is a simple designed, portable, easy to store, light in weight, maintenance free.
