INTRODUCTION
    
Centre for Media and Rural Documentation (CMRD) is one of the centres of NIRD consisting of two components viz., Development Communication Wing and Library

The Centre focuses on various issues pertaining to information, communication, and media such as right to information, role of media in development communication, mechanism of information transfer and dissemination to the wider development community comprising of policy framers, researchers, trainers and all those involved in the socio-economic development.

Library Activities : The library acts as a resource centre and a clearinghouse of information on rural development in India. Government publications, research reports, and data apart from journals and other unpublished material form a massive resource base of the library. It has developed a computerized database of the resources in its collection. The computerized database consists of nearly two lakh references. The library has also fully automated its day-to-day operations
