OBJECTIVES: 1. To study the process of devolution in the state of Uttar Pradesh;2. To describe the measures undertaken by the Government of UP in carrying out the administrative restructuring process;3. To analyse the changing pattern of Panchayati Raj administration; and 4. To highlight the positive and negative aspects of the administrative restructuring process.
METHODOLOGY: Data were collected from the concerned officials and elected representatives through discussions and questionnaires.
