PROJECT ABSTRACT: Objectives:1) To install confidence among rural youths about their capabilities and potential by presenting the success stories of others as an example. To motivate rural youths to opt for entrepreneurship as a career option; 2)To demonstrate the effectiveness of REDPs as a strategy for widening the base of entrepreneurial activity and opening up new avenues of income and employment; and 3)To highlight the role of the support system in RED.

Methodology:In the first stage, entrepreneurs were identified based on the records available with EDI, followed by the collection of hand data relating to entreprenuer profile and his/her enterprise, through a structure format. In the second stage, open ended but semi-structured interviews of the identified entrepreneurs were conducted to elicit the process-related information. In all 108 entrepreneurs were interviewed.
