About Us:

With the merger of the Composite Training Institute, then functioning as an apex Training Institute of Agriculture Department, the foundation stone of the State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD) was laid on the November 14, 1987and inaugurated on the same day in 1991. It attained autonomy in 1993 under the Department of Rural Development, The institute is being run by the Director as per the constitution adopted by the Board of Governors with the fund available from the Central and State Government.
