Out of the thirty districts of the state, four districts, viz., Kalahandi, Nawarangpur, Sambalpur and Sonepur were selected purposively as these districts are in the KBK region and have the largest concentration of Gond population. At the second stage, four blocks, one each from the above districts were selected randomly. In the third stage, five villages from each block and 15 households from each village were selected at random. In total 300 respondents were interviewed for the study.
