Uttarakhand Institute of Rural Development, Rudrapur, Udham Singh Nagar was established on 16th September, 2002 vide the Uttarakhand Government Notification no. 3/F.R.D/2002 dated 16.09.2002 as autonomous Institute under the Society Registration Act, 1860.It functions under the control & superintendent of a "Governing Body"

Consist of 10 members under the chairmanship of Hon'ble Minister Rural Development Government Of Uttarakhand.The Management of Uttarakhand Institute of Rural Development is vested with a Seven

Members "Executive Committee". UIRD shall function as the apex Institute under the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Sector in the state.
