Merit and need based scholarships will be made available to deserving Indian students. Need based scholarships are available to economically poor students while merit scholarships are for course toppers as well as trimester toppers in each trimester. The North Eastern Council, Shillong, has fully funded the North Eastern students selected for the PGDRDM in 2008-09. Similar financial support to the admitted students domiciled in the North Eastern region is likely for the years 2009-10 and 2010-11 subject to a maximum of two students from each of the eight North Eastern states.

The top three overall academic performers of the PGDRDM will be awarded the gold, silver and bronze medals, respectively.

Bank loans will also be facilitated by the NIRD for needy Indian students.
